NTA’s Press Note on Disrepency in Photograph Uploaded in the Forms

Regarding the discrepancy in uploaded images, NTA released a press note on the 16th of January 2025 evening. In the press note, NTA said that we have observed that the photographs uploaded by a few candidates for JEE Main 2025 session-1 have not been found as per the required specifications. It has been decided that such candidates should upload the photographs as per the specifications necessary to avoid application rejection. All such candidates whose photographs are to be changed will be informed about it by message in a registered email and SMS on a mobile number.

If you got the message from NTA, you need to re-upload your photograph in the application form. Meanwhile, here is the schedule issued by the NTA.

Guidelines to Keep in Mind While Uploading Image

As mentioned earlier, NTA issued some guidelines that you have to keep in mind while re-uploading your image in the JEE Main 2024 session-1 images.

  • The photograph should be between 10KB and 300KB for the passport size.
  • The decent photograph should be in colour with 80% (without mask) visible, including ears against the white background.
  • The photograph should be named as “photograph” and in JPG/JPEG format(clearly legible).
  • Spectacles are allowed only if they are being used regularly.
  • Polaroid and computer-generated photos are not acceptable.
  • Applications not complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected.
  • Applications without photographs as per the specifications given above shall be rejected.
  • The photographs need not be attested. Candidates are advised to keep 6 to 8 passport-size colour photographs with white backgrounds.
  • The candidate may not know if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated, i.e., DE-shaped or seem to be handmade or computer-made; the application of the candidate will be rejected, and the same would be considered as using unfair means. The candidate would be dealt with accordingly.
  • Candidates are advised to take note and act accordingly.
