On one hand, thousands of seats will increase, and on the other hand, there will be opportunities for nation-building and employment at the local level. But here, we will talk about what benefits the students will get from the increase of 6,576 seats in IITs.
1. Decrease Competition: Adding 6,576 new seats in IITS will somewhat reduce the competition for JEE Main and Advanced. Earlier, due to limited seats, thousands of students used to compete for one seat, but now, with the increase in the number of seats, the cutoff may decrease, and more students will get a chance to be selected. This will also reduce the students’ stress and increase their chances of success.
2. Increased Trend Towards IITS: Increasing the number of seats in IITS will increase students’ interest towards these institutes. Earlier, many students were apprehensive about IITS due to limited seats and high competition, but now that the opportunities are increasing, more students will make IITS their target. This will increase the inclination of talented students towards these top institutes, and they will prepare more seriously than before.
3. Benefit to the Local Students: Another benefit of new IIT colleges is for the local students around these newly established IIT colleges. In states where new IITS will be established, such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Jammu and Kashmir, local students will be able to access top-level education nearby, eliminating the need for them to go out for studies.
4. Boosting employment and startups: Adding new seats in IITS will also significantly change jobs and startups. New research parks and increased collaboration with industries will allow students to convert their innovations and ideas into commercial forms. This will help students start startups, promote entrepreneurship, and gain new employment opportunities. Thus, this scheme will not only benefit students but also empower the Indian economy and the startup ecosystem.
5. Other: The 6,576 new seats in IITS will provide high-quality education to students through better infrastructure, expert faculty and research parks. It will also provide them with new opportunities for startups and employment, which will help them convert their innovations into a commercial form. This will be beneficial not only for students but also for the Indian economy and the startup ecosystem.
A Few Last Words
