CBSE 2025 Date Sheet for 10th & 12th

The Central Board of Secondary Education released the date sheet for class 10th and 12th exams late Wednesday night. CBSE said that during the examination, there is a sufficient gap between the dates of two subjects for any student so that the students can get help. Besides this, CBSE said that the exam program of 10the 12th class has been prepared in such a way that the students do not face any problems in taking any other entrance exam.

What is the Exam Time Table of the CBSE 10th Exam?

According to the notification, the 10th board exam will start on February 15, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The first exam will be in English. After this, CBSE has decided to conduct the 10th board exam on February 17, giving a gap of 2 days.

  • A timetable was prepared this year by assigning a suitable gap between exams.

No Clash with Entrance Exams

Some 10th or 12th-grade students also prepare for entrance exams along with board classes. The problem arises when the dates of their board exams and entrance exams clash, but this time, it has been kept in mind that no board exam should clash with any entrance exam. There is a suitable gap between exams, and students can appear in the entrance exam if anyone is there.

75% Attendance in CBSE

Students often oppose the 75% attendance rule in CBSE board classes, but the board is making it stricter year by year. Talking about the upcoming board exams of CBSE 2025, the board has again addressed the attendance notice to affiliated schools, in which 75% of attendance in CBSE is mandatory for all board class students.

If you are a student and going to appear in the CBSE 10th or 12th exam in 2025, you must be worried about the 75% attendance in School for the upcoming board exams. Well, we have got your back with a detailed guide on the CBSE attendance rule so that you can clear all your doubts regarding the 75% attendance rule in CBSE 2025.

75% Attendance in CBSE

The Central Board of Education recently sent a letter reinforcing the importance of 75% attendance in CBSE board. The letter says 75% attendance is necessary for students in class 10th or 12th. Students need to have high attendance if they want to qualify for the board exams.

While the letter says high attendance is necessary to qualify for board exams in 2025, it does not exclude future exams from this rule. It only emphasises the importance of having more than 75% attendance in school for the short term.

Many news sites have discussed this letter and the main possible reason for this letter by CBSE. But are there any other reasons you need 75% attendance in school?

Why 75 Percent Attendance is Compulsory in CBSE

The first and most obvious reason is to have students attend school regularly for their classes. If they do not attend class, they could easily fail the exams. They could even fall far behind in their practicals, making it incredibly difficult to catch up on them before the board practical exams start.

The second reason is that teachers can aid students’ holistic development. This would benefit students’ studies and, importantly, their overall development. This significant development helps students mature enough to handle the tough world waiting for them.

Now that we know the rules’ reasons for existence, let’s examine the details of the CBSE attendance rules.

CBSE Attendance Rules

The Central Board of Secondary Education has also posted the letter/circular online, and we will discuss the details of these CBSE attendance rules here.

According to the CBSE attendance rules, the minimum attendance required for a regular student is 75%. Students who have subjects involving practicals also need 75% attendance for practical work in laboratories.

The minimum required attendance for students participating in sports at national-level events organised by recognised Federations/CBSE/SGFI is 60%. This applies even to subjects involving practical work.

The CBSE attendance rules also state that students from a CBSE-affiliated school can only take their board exams if they have a minimum attendance of 75%. As mentioned above, the minimum attendance required for sports students is 60%.

Students who are absent from class without proper leave documents can be barred from appearing in board exams. This might seem strict, but it is a warning for students and the school to have all the relevant documents and all absences accounted for. This is due to the CBSE holding surprise inspections for students’ attendance.

So when you are absent from school, make sure you give the school a valid reason and give any required documents to the school.

NOTE:

  • The rules in this circular are most important for classes 10th and 12th.
  • Attendance is counted from the first day of school until the first of the month preceding the month during which exams start. For example, if the board exam starts in February, then attendance will be counted until 1 January.

Now that we know the main CBSE attendance rules let’s look at the exceptions where students have low attendance.

Exceptions to CBSE 75% Attendance Rules

The exceptions to the minimum 75% attendance in CBSE schools are written as CBSE Rules for Condonation of Shortage of Attendance in the circular. In exceptional cases, if you have a valid and acceptable reason, CBSE will allow you to take your board exams if your attendance is above 15%.

Here are the exceptional cases where such low attendance is allowed:

  • Sports students absent due to their participation in national or international-level sports events organised by recognised Federations/CBSE/SGFI must submit all relevant and valid documents to the school.
  • In other cases, attendance of below 60% to a minimum of 15% can be allowed for exceptional circumstances based on medical reasons or serious diseases that lead to long-term hospitalisation.

CBSE will allow a student’s attendance to be below 60% as long as there is a valid and acceptable reason, but at least 15%.

Conclusion

While requiring 75% attendance in CBSE may seem annoying to many students, it is necessary to ensure students are studying and promote their overall development.

If you participate in many national-level sports or suffer from a severe disease, the board will allow you to take your board exams as long as you have the proper documents and an acceptable reason.

LOC In CBSE

Last year, the Central Board of Secondary Education announced that they would start the LOC filling for CBSE Board Exams 2024 from 18 August 2023 onwards. Schools must file the LOC of every class X and XII student of the 2023-24 batch. So, What is LOC in CBSE, and why do the schools need to file it? This article will highlight some interesting facts about LOC in CBSE. So, dive in to know more…!

It started last year, but now, it has become an essential part of the CBSE board curriculum. Regarding this year’s LOC fillings, the LOC registration date for CBSE classes 10th and 12th was closed on 4th October 2024.

It’s been two years, and some students don’t know exactly what LOC is and how important it is. If you are one of those students or want a derailed view on LCO In CBSE, we have got you this guide.

What is LOC in CBSE?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) directs all the schools in India to submit the “LOC” of X and XII students every academic year. Well, the Full form of LOC in CBSE is “List of Candidates.” Essentially, the LOC is nothing but a document prepared by CBSE-affiliated schools before the conduct of board examinations, such as the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.

LOC is a simple application that requires a few important details about the students who are going to sit for board exams in that academic year. Here’s what the List of Candidates (LOC) entails exactly:

  • The LOC contains detailed information about each registered student, including their name, roll number, date of birth, and other personal details.
  • The LOC includes the subjects in which the student is registered to appear for the board examinations. This information also specifies the code for each subject.
  • The LOC specifies the examination centre where each student will be required to appear for their exams.
  •  It may include recent passport-sized photographs of the students to help in identification.

Importance and Purpose of LOC in CBSE

The CBSE’s LOC is crucial for the smooth conduct of board examinations. One of the major importance of LOC is that it serves as the basis for preparing examination admit cards and helps ensure that the correct students are assigned to the correct examination centers.

You can understand its importance from the fact that if your name is not in the LOC in 2024-25, you will not be able to appear in the upcoming practical exams and in the final board exams of 2024-25.

  1. LOC provides a list of registered students for board exams to help identify and verify them. This list has all the important details, like Name, roll number, date of birth, and subjects.
  2. With the help of details in LOC, the CBSE board releases the admit cards of all the registered candidates with accurate details.
  3. By the given address in LOC, CBSE makes sure that students get assigned nearby exam centres for their board exams.

What is LOC Registration in CBSE?

LOC Registration is an essential administrative process that helps CBSE and affiliated schools manage and conduct board examinations efficiently. It also ensures that all registered students are eligible to take the exam and get admit cards and exam centres accordingly.

Coming to its registration part, LOC registration is done by schools only. Your CBSE-affiliated school is responsible for making the list of candidates, collecting their informative data, and submit to the CBSE. For the submission, CBSE provides an online portal, ePariksha, on CBSE’s official website.

How Can Private Students Register for LOC In CBSE?

Private candidates can visit the newly launched CBSE website for private students-व्यक्तिगत परीक्षार्थी (cbse.gov.in) to get access to and information about LOC registration in CBSE, including where to apply, how to fill out the form, information about necessary documents, form submission, exam payment, and admit card details.

What is the LOC Password in CBSE?

LOC is a confidential certificate issued to staff in CBSE-affiliated schools. It is important that these passwords are secure and known only to those who need access to the online LOC system. If a school needs help communicating with the LOC password or login process, it should contact the CBSE or its regional office for help and guidance. The LOC password is used for logging into the LOC system, retrieving the details of the students, preparing the list of students who will appear for the board exams, distributing the admit cards, and checking and editing the given material to check the accuracy of the en and send the information after filling the details’ necessary nonna.

Conclusion

The LOC, or “List of Candidates”, is a crucial part of CBSE board exams, which ensures that students are registered correctly and get exam centres and admission time cards. Schools must fill out the LOC on time; without it, students cannot appear for practical and board exams. The LOC registration process brings transparency and ease in board exams, allowing students to get the right exam centres based on their details. CBSE has also provided a separate portal for private candidates to access information related to registration and exams easily.
