On 5th December 2025, the official website of JEE Advanced got updated with the exam date. Although the exam date was expected earlier to be 17th May 2026, it was the first official announcement from the exam conducting body.
About Exam Conducting Body
JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee this year. Every year, the responsibility of conducting JEE Advanced is entrusted to one of the IITs, and this responsibility rotates in a fixed sequence.
The country’s leading IITs such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee—take turns organizing JEE Advanced.
In this process, each IIT gets its turn again after every six years, completing a full cycle. Following this sequence, IIT Roorkee has been given the responsibility of conducting JEE Advanced in 2026.
IIT Roorkee will now release the examination process, brochure, guidelines, application dates, and all other official announcements.
