For now, we can say that the NTA follows the same schedule as before with CBT (computer-based test) for JEE Main Paper 1 (B.Tech) and pen and paper-based test with drawing segment for JEE Mains 2025 Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) twice a year (JANUARY and April). , the duration of the test will be 3 hours for paper 1 and 3.5 hours for paper 2. Eligibility Criteria For JEE Mains 2025
The first and foremost criterion to be eligible for JEE Mains 2025 is that the candidate must secure at least 75% in their high school. However, the candidates who come under the SC, ST, PwD, and other category must score at least 65% in their 12th. Meanwhile, the NTA made it clear that there will be no age limit for candidates for JEE 2025. However, the NTA only allows students to sit for JEE for three consecutive years. So, any student who passed out of Class 12th in 2023 and 2024 or is going to appear for board exams in 2025 is eligible for JEE Main 2025 regardless of age.
For both B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Planning, the student must have mathematics, chemistry, and physics as the mains subjects in their 12th standard. However, students from a science background can also apply for JEE if they select mathematics as their extra subject in their 12th curriculum. After all, the PCMB students can apply for both NEET and JEE in the same year.
Exam Dates For JEE Mains 2025
As mentioned earlier, the NTA doesn’t move a lip about any upcoming exams until this year’s season ends. So, we will only get the official info after the seat allocation is completed for both NITs and IITs. JEE Main 2025 Paper Pattern
The paper pattern for JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (B.Tech) will comprise 60 MCQ questions and 30 numerical value questions. So, paper 1 consists of a total of 90 questions (30 questions from each subject). Students have to answer a total of 75 (25 questions from each subject PCM).
The paper pattern for JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 (B.Arch) will comprise 20 Maths MCQ questions, 2 drawing questions, 50 aptitude-type questions, and 10 Maths numerical value questions. So, paper 2 consists of a total of 82 questions in which the students have to answer a total of 77 (Mathematics-25; Aptitude-50; Drawing-2)
The paper pattern for JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Plan) will comprise 20 Maths MCQ questions, 10 numerical maths questions, 50 aptitude MCQ questions, and 25 planning-based questions. So, the B.Planning paper will consist of 105 questions. Students have to answer 100 (Mathematics 25; Aptitude 50; Planning 25).
Marking Scheme for JEE Mains 2025
The marking scheme for JEE 2025 will be the same for B.E/B.Tech with 300 comprising a total of 90 questions and 400 marks for both B.Arch (82 questions) and B. Planning (105 questions).
Students will be awarded 4 for each correct response, -1 for each incorrect response, and 0 for unanswered questions for JEE Mains Paper 1. For paper 2, students will receive 4 marks for each right answer, -1 for each incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted, and for B.Arch, 50 for each drawing question (2X50=100)
Syllabus for JEE Mains 2025
The majority of the JEE Mains syllabus will be from NCERT textbooks from 11th and 12th standard. Step 1: Visit the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in
Step 2: Click on the JEE Mains registration link visible on the homepage
Step 3: Choose the option “New Candidate Register Here”
Step 4: Complete the authentication process using the Aadhar or any other valid documents
Step 5: Now, the application form will appear on the screen. Fill in all the accurate personal details, and submit the form.
Step 6: After verifying all the details, confirm the declaration.
Finally, click on the submit and send OTP button to verify the registered mobile number and email ID (In the mail, you will receive the registration number and password to log in)
Step 7: You have to go back to the website and log in with the credentials you have received to start registration for JEE Mains 2025.
Step 8: Now, you must fill in more details, including your residence country, state, language options, and more.
Step 9: Now, Select the paper for which you are applying (Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both). Also, choose your preferred exam centres in order.

Note: The fee structure for JEE Main might vary for different papers and categories. So make sure you fill in the correct gender, category, and country details before entering into the payment page. For paper 2 and paper 2, the application fee for national residents will be INR 900 for boys, INR 800 for girls, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/other categories.
