JEE Main 2025 Marking Scheme
Since we have no official info about the changes, the Marking scheme for JEE Main 2025 will be in the same pattern as the previous years. Now, here you will explore the detailed pattern of JEE Main 2025.
First of all, the JEE Main exam consists of two papers. JEE Main Paper 1 is conducted by NTA for admission into B.E/B. Tech courses. Meanwhile, JEE Main Paper undergoes two subcategories, JEE Main B.Arch and JEE Main B.Planning. So, every student must acknowledge that the Marking scheme differs for both. Let’s take a look at each paper marking scheme separately:
JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 Marking Scheme
JEE Main Paper 1 is a complete Computer Based Test (CBT). The total duration of the test will be 3 hours.
This test consists of a total of 90 questions. The paper comprises 30 questions from each subject -Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. All the candidates must answer at least 75 questions in total (25 questions from each subject).
The JEE Main 2025 marking scheme for paper 1 will consist of a total of 60 MCQs having 4 options, each with one correct option and 30 single Numerical Value answer questions. For every correct response, the students will get +4 for MCQ-type questions and -1 for each incorrect response. Unattempted questions will not be marked.
Likewise, the students will receive +4 for each correct response and -1 for each incorrect response for every non-MCQ/ Numerical Answer question. Unattempted questions will not be marked.
JEE Main 2025 Paper-2 Marking Scheme Pattern
Here comes the trickiest part, the Jee Main Paper 2, which is a two-part test, B.Arch or B. Planning where both exams follow different marking schemes with slight differences in subjects as well. Here is the detailed Marking scheme for Paper 2 of JEE main:
Marking Scheme for JEE Main B. Planning 2025:
JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Planning) is a complete CBT-based test (online). This is a 3-hour test with a total of 400 marks. Speaking of subjects, this test comprises different types of question patterns from Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning Objective Type questions.
B.Planning paper consists of a total of 105 questions. The paper comes with 30 questions from Mathematics, 50 from Aptitude, and 25 from Planning. The paper pattern of JEE Main B. Planning will consist of a total of:
Maths– 20 (MCQ type questions) + 10 (Numerical Value Questions)
Aptitude– 50 MCQ type questions
Planning Based (Objective Type)- 25 MCQs.
All students must answer at least 100 questions (25 in Mathematics, 50 in Aptitude, and 25 in Planning Based).
Speaking of the marking scheme, students can get +4 for each correct response for MCQ-type questions in all subjects and -1 for each incorrect response. Unattempted questions will not be marked. Meanwhile, the students will get +4 for each correct response and -1 for each incorrect response, and unattempted questions will not be marked for every non-MCQ-type question.
Marking Scheme for 2025 JEE Main B.Arch:
JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) is also a 3-hour long test, a combination test comprising both a Computer Test (CBT) and an on-paper exam. Mathematics and aptitude are conducted in CBT mode, whereas the drawing test will be conducted using pen and paper mode. Speaking of paper patterns, this test contains questions from Mathematics, Aptitude, and drawing-type questions. The total number of questions in this exam will be 82 (Mathematics- 30; Aptitude- 50; Drawing- 2).
The minimum number of questions to be answered by every candidate is 77 (Mathematics- 25; Aptitude- 50; Drawing- 2). The Subject-wise question pattern for 2025 JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) is:
Maths– 20 (MCQs) + 10 (Questions for which the answer is a Numerical Value)
Aptitude– 50 MCQ
Drawing– 2 Questions.
The marking Scheme for JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Planning) 2025 will be that the students will receive +4 for each correct response for MCQs and -1 for each incorrect response. Meanwhile, the unattempted questions will not be marked.
On the other hand, for objective and numerical-type questions, the student can get +4 for each correct response and -1 for each incorrect response. As usual, the unattempted questions will not be marked.
Finally, students will receive 100 marks for the drawing test for 2 questions, and the unanswered ones will not get marked.
Conclusion
In summary, the possibility of changes in the marking Scheme for JEE Mains 2025 is still unanswered by NTA. So, our advice to students is to stick with the old marking scheme pattern and incorporate the study schedules accordingly. After all, the NTA will announce such crucial changes in advance. Till then, the marking scheme for JEE main 2025 will be the same as in previous years, and all the mock tests and practice tests followed by your coaching will also follow the same pattern.
