Marking Scheme NEET 2025

The National Eligibility-Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025 version is almost one year ahead. However, the aspirants already have a lot of questions regarding the upcoming exam, especially with toughness, question pattern, and Marking Scheme. In this blog, we are going to highlight the Marking Scheme NEET 2025 to decode all the possibilities that you can expect in the coming year.

The marking scheme is one of the major criteria that play a key role in the attendee’s scores. This is why, the NTA always announces the marking scheme pattern a way before other updates. So, can we expect any changes in NEET UG 2025 or other announcements regarding the NEET Marking Scheme 2025 in the coming days? Well, let’s discuss the possibilities and predictions here in this blog. Let’s get started!

Significance of Marking Scheme in NEET

NEET UG exam is one of India’s most competitive yet controversial exams. Hence, every small detail in the preparation and execution of the test plays a key role in the proper management of pre and post-NEET actions for NTA. The marking scheme is one such crucial NEET criterion that needs to be out for the students before the final exam. Incorporating studies with the actual marking scheme simplifies the student’s efforts while preparing for the NEET exam.

A Marking Scheme is the only way to help the students to adapt to the final exam system. Besides, this systematic approach offers transparency in the exam by following a specific marking order every year.

Will NTA change the NEET 2025 Marking Scheme?

Changing the marking scheme is not a very usual thing for NT, especially with NEET. Speaking of the NEET 2025 Marking Scheme, the NTA hasn’t announced any such updates about changes. In fact, the NTA doesn’t reveal the information about any future updates until the current academic year’s seat allocation is done. Well, we all know the current session, NEET 2024 is still pending with counselling, seat allocation, and admissions, we cannot confirm what’s coming next!

Well, speaking of the changes, the majority of experts suggest that the current marking scheme is well-versed with the right volume of questions and a prominent negative marking scheme. However, some people expect that the NTA might revise the marking scheme NEET 2025 with new additions to make the test even harder for the growing applications in the future.

According to expert sources, the NTA might introduce a new marking scheme in 2025 that includes a partial marking system which is famous in many international exams. This system is nothing but awarding partial marks for partially correct answers when a question has more than one answer which is absent in the current marking scheme of NEET (1 correct answer only). NTA might also consider a variable marking system which is nothing but allocating different marks for different question types based on difficulty level. Removing negative markings for some sections will also take place if NTA decides to change the NEET Marking Scheme 2025.

At last, all of the above assumptions may or may not be considered by NTA. So, till then, we can conclude that the NTA hasn’t changed the NEET UG 2025 Marking scheme. For an official update regarding the Marking Scheme of NEET 2025, we all have to wait until the NTA exam calendar that will go to be released in November this year.

NEET UG 2025 Marking Scheme

Since we have no information regarding any changes, the NEET 2025 might follow the exact patterns of this year. NEET UG 2025 will be a 3-hour 20 20-minute long exam carrying a total of 200 questions. The question paper comprises three major subjects, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Again, Biology is a combination of two sub-subjects Botany and Zoology.

Each Subject is divided into two sections. In section A of each subject, students have to answer 35 out of 35 questions. However, in section B students will get a choice to answer at least 10 out of 15 questions. So, at last, the students must answer at least 180 out of 200 questions in NEET UG 2024.

The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2025 will follow the simple marking scheme. Students will be awarded +4 marks for each correct answer and for every wrong attempt, -1 will be deducted. And, the unanswered questions will not be marked. Since the NEET has only one answered question, if any student selects two options for a question, he will be deducted -1 for that question.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the NEET 2025 Marking Scheme is hard to guess, as the NTA finalizes the decision based on the current and future med-world cases. Since the marking scheme is one of the best ones in NEET, there is no need to worry about sudden changes, as the NTA will surely finalize the marking scheme while releasing the NTA exam calendar 2025.

So, in conclusion, all we have to say to all the aspirants is that even if NTA decides to change, the marking scheme will not experience any complex modifications. So, stop worrying about the unpredictable changes that might not even happen, and stick with the current marking scheme.
