New Result Date for NEET UG 2025

When the NEET 2025 exam concluded on May 4th, there were already expectations that the results would be declared on June 14th. This date was going to be final. However, there is one major reason why a New Result Date for NEET UG 2025 could be announced.

The reason is that numerous petitions have been filed across the country regarding the exam-related inconveniences. The MP and Madras courts have also ordered a stay on the result, delaying it. Unless the NTA submits a response to the court, the NEET 2025 result date may be different.

To keep you informed, this article will go into how the NTA declares the result, and also the details of why these petitions could delay the results. We’ll also learn about how to check the results and the NEET 2025 tie-breaking rules.

Old vs New Result Date for NEET 2025

We already know that June 14th was going to be the final result date for NEET 2025. However, depending on the situation, the result can even be delayed. Before we learn why there could be a New Result Date for NEET UG 2025, let’s understand how NTA declares the NEET result date.

How NTA Declares NEET Result Date

Keeping previous year schedules in mind, there’s a 30-40 day-long break between the exam and the result. Apart from two years during the pandemic, all other years followed this timeline.

Sometime during this break, the NTA will release provisional answer keys and the scanned OMR sheets of the candidates. There’s also an objection window where students can use these answer keys to verify their answers. They can challenge any discrepancies in the answer key by paying a fee of ₹200 per question.

After reviewing objections, a final answer key is announced, followed by the declaration of the NEET UG results.

Reasons Why There are Queries on the New Result Date of NEET UG 2025

As mentioned above, the petitions are the reason why the NEET UG 2025 New Result Date could be different. The current situation is that many petitions have been filed in courts across the country. These petitions are about the inconveniences students faced due to power cuts and heavy rains during the NEET 2025 exam.

There are 2 main courts which are in the spotlight for this controversy. The High Court in Madhya Pradesh and the High Court in Madras. To learn more about the situation, let’s learn about these petitions and court orders.

First, let’s talk about the case in Madhya Pradesh. The petitions in MP were from Indore. An exam centre suffered a power outage, causing exam interruptions. The petitioner was seeking either a form of relief for the affected students or a re-examination of the NEET.

The situation just a few days ago was that the original court order had been modified. It stated that the NTA must declare the results for all candidates, except those from the affected state.

However, the court was unhappy with the NTA for not complying with previous orders. As a result, the MP court has requested a response by 30th June 2025. This hold on the result might affect all NEET candidates.

For the Madras case, the court has temporarily halted the declaration of NEET UG 2025 results. Thirteen students had filed a petition, alleging that their NEET exam at the Chennai centre was disrupted due to power cuts and heavy rainfall.

On this issue, the court has ordered a stay on the results. Not only that, but the court also gave an order to the NTA. They need to submit a response before the scheduled Result Date for NEET 2025, June 14. The next hearing is to be held on 2nd June, 2025.

While it’s not certain, the NEET UG results can still be declared in June. However, it’s entirely possible that the NEET UG 2025 New Result Date might be different from what was scheduled.
