NTA Exam Calendar 2026

Since the NTA released its first exam calendar in year 2024 after COVID-19, students started expecting the exam calendar every year. As the last session’s 2024-25 exams are finished and the counselling procedures are ongoing, preparations for the new session have begun. Amidst all the preparation, many JEE, NEET, and CUET aspirants have started discussing the NTA exam calendar for 2026.

The NTA Exam Calendar 2025 was not released!

Please note that last year, NTA didn’t release the exam calendar; however, we were expecting it to be launched in November 2024. Although NTA didn’t mention any specific reason behind this, last year’s NEET 2024 is considered the primary reason behind this. 

Please note that last year marked the second year of the NTA Exam calendar, as the NTA introduced the exam calendar concept in 2018 for the 2028-29 session. 

After this, it was not released in the COVID-19 era, and after COVID-19, it was again launched in 2023 for the first time for the 2023-24 session. Again in the next year, it got cancelled. 

Hence, whether the exam calendar will be launched this year or not is also a matter of concern. Let’s figure it out. 

Let’s Have a Brief on NTA Exam Calendar 

For the past couple of years, the NTA has been releasing an exam calendar for various exams that it conducts. In this calendar, the NTA lists exam dates and registration start dates for various exams, including JEE, NEET, and CUET. However, the calendar was not part of the NTA before 2018; it was introduced recently. This NTA exam calendar helps students stay updated on exam dates, as well as the registration start and end dates.

Will the NTA Exam Calendar 2026 Be Launched?

Frankly speaking, as of now, there are no ideas whether NTA will launch the exam calendar for 2026 or not. If we track the last couple of years’ record of the NTA exam calendar, it has not followed any pattern. After the Covid-19 pandemic, it was launched in 2023 but was cancelled in 2024. 

Additionally, NTA didn’t mention any reason behind the cancellation last year. Therefore, we can neither say whether it will be released nor whether it will be cancelled this time, too, like last year. 

However, as it was the tradition of NTA before COVID-19, we can expect NTA to bring it back. If NTA is not planning to drop the calendar idea permanently, it will launch the NTA Exam calendar 2026. 

So, to the most extent, we can expect that NTA exam calendar 2026 will be launhced. However, there is confirmation on it till the NTA itself confirm it. 

NTA Exam Calendar 2026 Release Date: Expected

As we have seen, NTA has not released the exam calendar for 2025, whereas a year before that (in 2023), the calendar for the 2023-24 session was released. If we look at the pattern of previous years, it is clear that there is no certainty when the NTA exam calendar will be released, but when it is released, it usually comes in the last week of September or the first week of October.

So, we can say that if NTA release the exam calendar in 2026, most probably, it will be released in the Last week of September 2025 of in the first week of October 2025.

In conclusion, the NTA releases the exam calendar for the year 2026 after proper research. The NTA has to cross-check the public holidays, public events, or any other important dates that must not clash with any dates. This process might take more time than it did in previous years. After all, we cannot predict what the exam calendar plans by NTA for 2026. 

Speaking of changes and modification rumours, we know that NTA always comes up with something new. So, we cannot confirm that the agency will follow the same pattern for releasing the NTA Calendar 2026. So, we have to wait until the 2024-25 exam season ends so that the NTA can give us the exact details of the upcoming season. Until then, stick with your preparation calendar, which is more important than the NTA exam calendar 2026, as your prep decides your final score.
